Nadodigal goes Bollywood

Not many can forget the film Nadodigal. Featuring Sasikumar and Ananya in the lead, the flick did well commercially and clicked with the masses, besides being critically acclaimed. Now, this film will see a Bollywood remake.

And guess who has bought the rights - it's none other than film director Priyadarshan . The title is out as well - the film will be called Rangrez in Hindi. He has roped in famous producer Vashu Bhagnani's son Jacky Bhagnani to play Sasikumar's character while Priya Anand would be essaying Ananya's character and the rest of the cast will consist of newbies

That's one small step for Kani, one giant leap for his career !!

Well grounded human being

Subramaniapuram showcased Samuthirakani as an actor with potential and Nadodigal helped him prove his mettle as a director. From maker of Megas to Director of films that began with Unnai Charan Adaindhain, Kani has always been busy, primarily because he's absolutely egoless.

The lukewarm response to his debut film and the disaster of his second —Neranja Manasu with Vijayakanth as hero — didn't deter him. “If the film is a hit everyone vies for the laurels. And if the result is negative, it's the director who has to bear the onus,” he shrugs. He went back to television, joined his mentor K. Balachander's unit, worked as an assistant of Ameer for Paruthiveeran and kept himself as busy as ever. “I continued working till better things came my way.”

And the best did happen — Sasikumar gave him that solid role in Subramaniapuram, followed it up with another in Easan, played hero under Sasikumar's direction, and is back with him for Porali.

Now again wearing his director's hat, he is all ready to rock the Kollywood with his new flick "Nimirndhu Nil".

Ace director Samuthirakani`s Jayam Ravi-Amala Paul movie titled Nimirndhu Nil kick-started in Chennai.
The film produced by Vasan Visual Ventures Sreenivasan had its ‘pooja’ today morning at AVM Studios.

Nimirindhu Nil has music by GV Prakash and will have Meghana Raj as the second heroine. It will also have a Telugu version which will have Nani in the lead along with the two heroines who will be the common factor.

Says Samuthirakani: 'Nimirndhu Nil has action and romance and is set against a middle class milieu.
The hero is a disciplined man who faces certain problems which changes his attitude towards life and the society.
